We are a medical device company dedicated to changing the lives of patients
suffering from fluid overload through science, collaboration, and innovative
technology. The company is focused on developing, manufacturing, and
commercializing medical devices used in ultrafiltration therapy, including the
Aquadex FlexFlow® and the Aquadex SmartFlow(TM) systems (collectively referred to
herein as the "Aquadex System"). The Aquadex SmartFlow(TM) system is indicated for
temporary (up to eight hours) or extended (longer than 8 hours in patients who
require hospitalization) use in adult and pediatric patients weighing 20kg or
more whose fluid overload is unresponsive to medical management, including
diuretics.
Fluid Overload
Fluid overload, also known as hypervolemia, is a condition in which there is too
much fluid in the blood and generally refers to the expansion of the
extracellular fluid volume.
